Wesley Duru is a senior at Woodlands High School. As a WISE Student Coordinator, he acts as a bridge between his classmates and the WISE governing team. With his outgoing personality, Wesley is a big advocate for WISE, because he believes in the program.

“You can use WISE to figure out what kind of career you want later in life,” said Wesley. “WISE gives you a head start not everybody has.”

Wesley also appreciates that you can “do an array of things in WISE. You’re not restricted to one thing.” Wesley is exploring three Weslyproject ideas. He is working with an ALS nonprofit that hopes to build an ALS hospice center in Westchester and eventually throughout the United States. Wesley is also considering interning at St. Barnabas hospital’s trauma center and creating an interview talk show called “The Hot Seat.” He hopes to pursue a career in medicine and is also interested in politics.
