WISE Welcomes Tiospaye Topa First Native American Senior Experience Program

Andrew Courtney, Board of Directors member and Vic Leviatin, WISE staff, visited Tiospaye Topa school on the Cheyenne River Lakota Reservation in South Dakota in August, 2001. Conversations with Board of Education members, teachers, students and parents revealed interest in WISE.

On a return trip to South Dakota in October 2001, Tiospaye Topa Board of Education unanimously approved WISE for its seniors beginning January, 2002. Interest in WISE has spread to other schools in So. Dakota, specifically, in Rapid City.
